can accommodate 14 men with drug- and other problems
- has a caritative care ideology
The purpose in addition to housing service, is to encourage initiative and sense of responsibility together with rehabilitation through different forms of occupational therapy. Because our work is based upon a christian foundation, we think that discussions and soul care are of a great significance in the care. Still it is of one's own free will to talk to the staff, and the initiative is always the client's.
The roomers daily do some household duties like cleaning the common rooms, heating the sauna twice a week, cleaning away snow in the winter and gardening in the summer.
Supervision
The home is supervised from 8 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. Nightime there is no supervision. The supervisor locks the doors after working hours, but can be waked up at his home during the night. The Samaria home has got a so-called "zero line", which means that an intoxicated client must not come in. In smaller cases the tipsy person is requested to go for a walk until he sobers up. In worse cases the client is sent to the church's shelter for the night.

Fees
The fee is at the moment (fr. 1.1.2006) 44€/day, of which 3/4 are publicly subsidized and 1/4 is
a personal liability. In some cases the social welfare office pays the daily costs in full, which means
that the client is not charged. The fee includes full board and lodging in single rooms.
The fee from 1.1.2007: 46€/day.
Accommodation
The clients live in single rooms and they have a separate kitchen, with a suitable equipment, at their disposal. TV, radio, showers and wc-rooms are used in common. In the day room there is a VCR, a billiard table and weightlifting equipment.
Day centre activity
In connection to the Samaria home, there is a day centre. The purpose of the centre is to be a meeting place for people who are unemployed, homeless or drug abusers and need to get away from the habitual everyday life. At the day centre you can read the daily papers, have breakfast, play, do your laundry, take a bath or just spend time. You always come sober to the day centre. The centre is open when a supervisor is present. Old customers may from time to time come and visit their "old home".
